Competency Based Assessment - The purpose of assessment is to confirm that an individual can perform to the standards expected in the workplace as expressed in the relevant endorsed industry/enterprise standards. Assessment may be undertaken either in conjunction with training, or through an assessment only pathway (referred to as Skills Recognition). Competency based assessment encompasses work-based assessment and institution based assessment towards a qualification or Statement of Attainment under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
